Chronic epiphora (eye tearing), or infection of the tear draining system can sometimes necessitate tear duct surgery (DCR) in order to provide a more definitive fix. An evaluation in the clinic will include flushing of the tear ducts to see the degree of obstruction. Sometimes a colored dye will also be used to see if the tears are adequately draining in the nose from the eye.![]()
